Frequently asked questions
Is the Rad Power battery recalled?
No. The CPSC issued a public warning in January 2026 telling owners to stop using RP-1304 and HL-RP-S1304 batteries, but Rad did not agree to a recall.
Can I get a free replacement from Rad?
Warranties on bikes bought before December 15, 2025 are void after the bankruptcy. Check with LifeEV, the new owner, for any program.
Can I use a third-party battery on my Rad bike?
Many Rad bikes use 48V packs. A third-party 48V pack that matches the mount, connector and BMS rating can work, but choose a UL 2271 certified pack.
